Aldenham vs Stevenage.........(Mens vs boys)

Here we are guys first match report of 2009, another nice and sunny day for cricket and another Aldenham victory. Batted first for a change starting with Sach and Mayuren in which mayuren missed out and got a DUCK, In came Nish and we carried on with some amazing shots from Sach, who is improving day by day and some good running between the wickets by Nish with a partnership of more then 50 between the two of them untill Nish got out for 26 and then came the chairman Simon Letts who was cheered everytime he would get a run. (And he got a few runs this time). Sach got out for 45 and the A's were about 102 for 3.

With the likes of Karan, Matt and Basil still to bat and the oppose looking a bit weak the Skipper imposed a new rule by Saying if you hit too many fours and sixes you would be retired and sent in as he wanted to see more singles and two's. But as we all know it wouldn’t bother karan who played some trademark Karan shots and hit a few sixes and got to 56 in no time and he was retired, and in came Matt who was looking in good touch as always.  Simon scooped one up in the air and got out for 25.Basil and Matt were then looking good but they were again retired for about 25 and 28 respectively, because they were timing the ball to well and did not follow the skippers rule of not hitting boundries.

We got 233 and we were called in by the skip.  Stevenage never looked to even get half of 233,specially with the likes of Sen,Charlie,Colin,Karan and Mayuren in the bowling attack. 3 maidens for Sen out of his 5 overs and yes he was not balling outside off stump but he was a bit unlucky with getting wickets. Junior Munroe and Colin both got TWO wickets each and three good run-outs from Mr.Barot and he got 3 wickets as well as he got all the kids out in Stevenage's team and found out at the end of the match that the opp has credited 3 wickets to Matt and not him as they got his name wrong. And how can I forget Basil letts behind the stumps towards the end when Shorty had to leave early and decided to give the gloves and pad to Basil when Mayuren already had Itty's keeping gloves and pads ready in his kit knowing that Pete was going leave early.Basil encouraging the bowlers behind the stumps and no one understood a word of what he was screaming. Thank god to his helmet which he used more then his keeping gloves to save runs. All in all Aldenham glory in Stevenage which has an amazing ground in middle of the fields and the walk to the ground between the field is actually bigger then the ground.

Last words from saturday's skipper were Aldenaham's SATURDAY'S team haven't lost yet.

Looking forward to other volunteer's for manny more MATCH REPORTS.

Sen I am available for STEVENAGE'S game next year.
