Started at the
club around the beginning of time, made his money in the city,
married and had kids all the while playing cricket too, an avid
sportsman adding tennis to his bow, a strong and respected
member of the club who then retired from full time employment
some 3years ago to spend more time repairing the pavilion and
servicing the mowers, what else is there to do!! He captained
the side thru the middle ages, became chairman for a brief spell
after the war and now resides as skipper for the Sat side.
With out him we would be lost, his lack of timekeeping is
famous! |

Michael started
out as a lowly member of the junior section of the club around 5
years ago, having found his rugby skills being put to the test
rather too often, so as a way out he arrived at the mighty
parish for a well deserved rest! But after a brutal mugging near
his home that left him mentally and probably physically scarred,
he became ''the human wrecking ball''. Not a man to disrespect
with all those muscles and tattoos, after all, he is a stalwart
figure in the ''power hour'' of many an infamous cricket tours.
However, an extremely nice side to him allowed him to quickly
arise thru the pecking order to make a play for captaincy in the
2009 season. When Michael is not exerting his presence on the
field he can mainly be found at ''Fabric'' or at the bar!! |

Pete started at
the club apparently 2years after Colin which makes him also very
old, he quickly informed the captain of the day that his bowling
ability was something else which the skip presumed meant as he
was hirsute in the face dept, could be ACC version of Bob
Willis, that idea didn’t last long and Pete’s natural forte
became wicket keeping cos his
throwing wasn’t up to much either, However, over the years he
has become an expert at what he does best, shout, holler and
always the last on the field, his walk to the wicket is
legendary as he seems to be on ''Jamaica time'' but his calling
to the non strike batsmen is impeccable.
Pete is a valued member of the club because of his love
for cutting grass, without him it would be long!! |
